AN: First off: I want to thank everyone who reviewed last chapter. It was in fact the largest response to date. I realise that it was also the most critical response to date and I will try to use that to work on my shortcomings as a writer. Since I can already feel the rage coming from some of you, keep this in mind: Harry and Hermione have never really had any kind of significant relationships with their peers, not even friendships, except with each other (and Weasley, but...seriously?). They both tend to worry more about the other than themselves and I'm trying to reflect that when I write from their perspectives. I don't blame Hermione and neither does Harry. That's just her own insecurities affecting her. As for Sirius, well, he's barely hanging on to his sanity after twelve years of mental torture. His focus is entirely on taking care of Harry, as much as it can be. Yes, he could be more considerate of Hermione, and he does care about her, but in this situation but he isn't really able to see past what it has done to Harry. I think that Rowling was a bit constrained by the whole 'children's book' thing and that a lot of mental issues were glossed over with regards to Sirius. So in the end we have three people who are utterly unprepared in any way to deal with the situation that's developed.

Those of you with concerns about cliffhangers: you are in good company. UrsaMinor assures me that I am an unparalleled arsehole when it comes to those.
